1. How can I join the online games?

To join the online games one has to log in first. Choose the option Log In in the main menu on the left hand side below the header Online Games. In the next screen one has to fill in Name and Password. If you have not already got a name and password, please press 'Nieuwe loginnaam aanmelden'. At the next screen you can enter your name. This may be your real name, but of course you can also make up a name.
Here your e-mail address is required as well. We use the e-mail address to send you your password and a notification if it is your turn (one can put that option off on your user profile) or when the game has finished.

Now you can log in (press button login) with your name and the password Cycloop has sent you. The next screen is the main screen of online games. On the left of the screen you see some additional menu options to change your user profile. There you can change your password, the download speed and so on.

To play a game one chooses either New game to open a game or one enters one of the already open games mentioned above the Current Games by pressing <player x>, where x determines the sequence of play. In that case the open game moves from Open Games to Current Games.

In all current games where your name and the number of the game are coloured white it is your move. To do your move you press the number of the game and the gameboard opens. On the top right you can find the rules of the game by pressing a white . To lay track, just click on the line on the grid where you want to lay your track.

Sometimes you find an open game with players in all positions. In that case one of the names is coloured orange. This player has not made a move in 28 days. If that is the case this player is replaced if the other players kick him out by pressing. The replacement can decide for him or herself whether he or she wants to let the results count for his or her own ranking or for the ranking of the replaced player.

2. What are the rules?

Press on the white on the right top end of main Trans America screen to find the rules.

3. How can I change the password?

You can change your password by pressing User Profile on the left hand side of your screen in the Online Games menu. You have to enter your new password on both lines and then press Change.

4. How can I prevent getting an e-mail every time it is my turn?

You can prevent getting e-mails every time it is your turn by pressing User Profile on the left hand side of your screen in the Online Games menu. There you can select that option or turn it off and then pressing Change.

5. How can I increase the speed of the downloading?

You can increase the download speed by pressing User Profile on the left hand side of your screen in the Online Games menu. There you can choose for higher or lower downloadspeed and lower or higher quality of the screen and then pressing Change.

6. Do I have to finish the game in one session?

You you do not have to finish the game in one sesion. You can log off and do the next move whenever you like. However, you have to do a move within 28 days. If you do not move by then, the other players can decide to have you replaced. You might still get the results from the game added to your ranking.

7. For what purpose do you use my e-mail address?

Your e-mail is solely used for sending you your password and a notification when it is your turn (that option can be deselected) and when the game is finished. It is not used for anything else.

8. How do I make a move?

Below the header Current Games you see a list with your games. In all games coloured white, it is your turn. If it is the turn of another player that players name is coloured soft yellow. If you want to do your turn, press the number of the game. On the next screen you get the gameboard.
In the first turn you only have to select your starting point. You select a starting point by clicking on one of the cities that are selected for you. In the next turns you have to lay tracks to connect the other cities. A single or double track or two single tracks.If you have placed the first single track and don't want to lay a second one, you can finish your turn by pressing End Turn on the right bottom of the screen.

9. Can I win in another persons turn?

Yes, you can. At the end of every turn of a player there is a check whether one of the players has connected all his or her cities and the game is finished. Sometimes the game has two winners!

10. Who is Cycloop?

The name cycloop is the Dutch translation of the name Cyclops, one of the figures of the classical game Titan. The site is run by two independent, enthousaistic players without any tie to an institute, company, magazine or anything else . We play under the nicknames of barley and hilde. The name cycloop is used for testing only.
